Using the Astra Scheduling
When a User is having difficulty connecting their laptop to a display or wall HDMI port in the Learning Commons, here are a few steps to help you determine why they may be having trouble.
These are the steps LIT (or any) tech support would follow to isolate the problem and figure out which component has the issue: (laptop, cable, or display). These steps are in order of logic/difficulty/convenience. And remember to be patient! It can take a moment for video to show up even when you have a good connection.
1. Verify that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the HDMI port.
2. Verify that the display is set to the correct input.
a. With a group study area wall panel, try pressing the HDMI button a couple of times. It may cycle through different HDMI sources.
b. With a display, there are probably multiple HDMI inputs, so you’ll need to find the one you are connected to.
3. Restart the display and the laptop.
4. Try a different HDMI cable.
5. Try connecting the laptop to a different display/wall HDMI port.
6. Try connecting a different laptop to this display/wall HDMI port.
Table/Record view – In a user’s record you can toggle between Table and Record view of a user’s loans and returns. Seems like you see or can get to the same information, but the Table view is more like the previous UI. You can make the same switch for Return Items. The toggle is the icon next to the gear wheel.
There is still a filter to show all a user's loans/returns in their record or just those of the current session. The filter is the funnel looking icon below.
