Who to Contact

Lib IT: Library Information Technology has ownership of staff workstations and printers. They provide staff in the library department with support for hardware and software issues on this equipment.  Contact them at  lib-it-help@uiowa.edu when there are issues with staff computers, reference desk computers, staff printers, digital signage, KIC scanner, and phones. They do not have a department phone # but respond fast via email. Individual staff phone #'s are listed on website. Student employees are unable to use the listserv, so should contact a staff member for help. 

  • try to reboot before reporting problem
  • give computer id number, and complete description of the problem, including any error messages

ITS: Information Technology Services has ownership of public workstations and printers, including those in the Information Commons. ITS provides support for hardware and software issues on public workstations and printers. Contact ITS Help Desk its-helpdesk@uiowa.edu or x4-4357 with problems with public computers and public printers (including those in classrooms), desktop scanners, classroom issues.
