Other Citation Managers
If you choose not to use EndNote Basic or EndNote Desktop, there are still other citation managers available to you. Some of the programs listed on this page are free, others are paid.
Please remember that this is not an exhaustive list of all the citation management options in existence and that the systems listed here may or may not be supported by the UI Libraries.

Papers[ $79 as of April 3, 2014] Papers 3 helps you collect and curate the research material that you're passionate about. From citations to search, Papers will improve the way you find, organize, read, and cite. Available for Macs, Windows, and iOS systems.
ProQuest Flow

Proquest Flow[Free] Flow comes from the team that delivered RefWorks. It is a fully online or cloud-based reference and document management program.
RefWorks
Please note: Starting January 1, 2015 RefWorks and Write-N-Cite will no longer be available for free from the UI Libraries. EndNote Basic (for undergraduates) and EndNote Desktop (for faculty, staff, graduate and professional students) are available for free through the UI Libraries.
RefWorks users who have not yet transferred their references to another service should contact RefWorks Support (refworks.support@proquest.com) to ask for an export in RIS format.
Anyone who wishes to stay with RefWorks will need to purchase an individual subscription.
