Film Reviews and Information About Films: Home

This guide is designed to help locate the many resources available from the University of Iowa regarding cinema and the film industry, with special consideration towards film reviews.

Quick Links

The University of Iowa is home to an enormous collection of film and film resources, freely available to all students.  To identify films in our library, use the University of Iowa Libraries InfoHawk Catalog or SmartSearch.  The films in the Main Library are located in Media Services on the west side of the first floor and are available upon request at the Information Desk.

The resources referenced in this guide will help to locate information and reviews of feature-length motion pictures, in both the United States and around the world.  We have several databases that can be accessed from any of the computers on campus as well as at home.  The print sources listed in this guide are located in the Reference alcoves on west side of the first floor in the Main Library and in the general stacks on the west side of the fourth floor.
