If you need a book or an article that the UI Libraries don't own, you can request what you need as a member at the University of Iowa, this includes current students, staff, and faculty. Interlibrary Loan is a free service where you can request materials the UI Libraries do not own or have available.
You can also request PDF scans of specific chapters of books in our stacks as well as materials off campus at our Library Annex. To do this, simply select the title in InfoHawk+ and choose the option under request.
1. Go to InfoHawk+ at search.lib.uiowa.edu.2. Sign In using the button in the upper right-hand corner. |
3. Search for items. When you find an item you'd like to request, click on the title to open the item record. |
4. To request a scan, select Request PDF of Book Chapter. Note that this service is not limited to book chapter scans, we can also scan parts of a music score. |
5. Log in to the Libraries' Interlibrary Loan service via the proxy server. |
6. Review the information in the form and complete any required fields (marked with an asterisk*). When all information is entered, submit your request.
