AI & Generative Chat Tools: UI Further Reading & Resources

Library guide on artificial intelligence tools and citing

University of Iowa

The University of Iowa has developed many resources that continue the conversation surrounding artificial intelligence, generative AI chat tools and higher education. These lists have been adapted by multiple departments across campus, including the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology, IT Security, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, IOWA Magazine, etc.

This is certainly not an exhaustive list, where further resources and services are compiled and changed regularly.

A great starting point is this collection of resources gathered by OTLT's Instructional Services that includes University of Iowa specific articles and services.

You can find several robust (and evolving) lists of further reading exploring this topic, including the University of Toronto’s Artificial Intelligence in Teaching & Learning bibliography or this Zotero list started by Lee Skallerup Bessette.

UI Accessible Resources

All University of Iowa students and faculty members, or anyone with a uiowa e-mail address, now have access to Copilot in Edge. You can access the CoPilot link in the top-right corner of the Edge Browser and it is powered by GPT-4. More information on Copilot for the University of Iowa can be found here.

You can also find more details about the resource, CoPilot here.
