Brett Cloyd is the Social Sciences and Public Policy Librarian at the University of Iowa. He works with academic programs, including  International Studies, Military Science, Political Science, the School of Earth, Environment and Sustainability, and the School of Planning and Public Affairs.He also is the Libraries' liaison to the International Student Support and Engagement organization, iVets, and is the Fulbright Librarian and available to consult on applications.

Starting in June 2021, Brett became a member of the UI Staff Council as organizational representative to the UI Libraries.In this role he has been an At-Large Member and Secretary with the Executive Committee, and co-chaired the University Relations and Committee on Committees.

Brett's work with professional associations has included a term on the Iowa Library Association's Executive Board, chair of  ACRL's Politics, Policy and International Relations Section, and secretary of the Government Documents Round Table. He has also participated in the Iowa Library Association's Leadership Institute,  the University of Iowa's LEAD Program, and the Association of Research Libraries Management Training Program.

Brett has a B.A. in History from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa.
