Trace a Popular Article Back to the Original Research

Step 1: Scan the popular news article with your group. Discuss the following with your group:

1. Are there links or references to a study that was done?
2. What are some main concepts or terms that stand out? 
3. Create a list of these concepts or terms that you can use to conduct research on similar studies through the UI Library resources.

Step 2: Find the original research article. Using the worksheet, conduct the following:

1. Find the authors and title of the article and journal it comes from.
2. Read the abstract and discover the main purpose of the study. 
3. Are there any figures, graphs, or tables? What do you think the value of these are?

Group 1 - A.I. Animal Communication

Group 2 - Brain fingerprints

Group 3 - Tree Farts

Group 4 - Bee brains & Robots
