Aldeen Davis papers. 1954-1995. Muscatine, Iowa, newspaper columnist active in arts, civic, educational, and religious organizations. Founded a column on African-American history and modern life for the Muscatine Journal entitled "Soul Food and Thought", which ran until 1990. Published "Soul Food for Thought", a book-length compilation of some of her articles. Wrote regularly for the Iowa Bystander, a long-running African-American-owned newspaper.

Carolyn Dyer papers. 1905-2016. Professor Emeritus of Journalism at the University of Iowa and Nancy Drew scholar.

Connie McBurney papers. 1996-2002. Journalist and 1996 congressional candidate.

Dora Jane Hamblin papers. 1937-1993. Iowa native who wrote for the Cedar Rapids Gazette, LIFE magazine, and other periodicals.

Dorothy Ashby Pownall papers. 1918-1974. Journalist who reported on Camp Dodge in Iowa during World War I.

Judy Polumbaum papers. 1987-1997. Professor of journalism at The University of Iowa.

Kittredge Cherry and Audrey Lockwood. 1970-2009. Life partners Kittredge Cherry (1957-), an author, journalist, and minister to the LGBT community, and Audrey Lockwood (1957- ), a financial planner, met as students at the University of Iowa in 1975 and lived and worked in Japan before settling in California.

Lola Moeller Zook papers. 1909-2004. Newspaper editor whose papers relate to her career as a journalist and the years she spent in occupied Japan following World War II.

Marjorie Mason papers. 1960-1995. Teacher, newspaper columnist and poet from Sioux City, Iowa.

Mary G. Clark papers. 1995-1997. Librarian and author of columns in the Iowa City Press Citizen.

Mary Jane Odell papers. 1936-2002. Television journalist and politician who served as Iowa Secretary of State from 1980 to 1986.

Mary Rouse papers. 1937-2000. Journalist who worked for the Office of Public Information at the University of Iowa.

Mildred Augustine Wirt Benson papers. 1875-2012. Journalist for the Toledo Blade and writer of the first Nancy Drew mysteries and other children's series books; collection includes writings, clippings, scrapbooks, fan mail, photographs, and a typewriter.

Miriam Baker Nye papers. 1938-1996. Moville, Iowa, farm wife and columnist for the Sioux City Farm Journal Weekly.

Mrs. Dixon Alexander papers. 1871-1872. Correspondent for a weekly newspaper, The Fayette Leader.

Oneita Griggs Fisher papers. 1932-1967. Newspaper columnist and writer from Washington County, Iowa, who was interested in conservation and historic preservation.

Ruth Wilson papers. 1957-2002. Journalist who worked for the Stars and Stripes in postwar Europe.

Verda Williams papers. 1965-2004. Communication specialist at Iowa State University who produced the documentary Black Des Moines: Voices Seldom Heard.
