Manuscripts in the Curriculum, A Fall 2018 Series
-
In Fall 2018, the University of Iowa and surrounding communities will have a rare opportunity to see a wide variety of manuscripts owned by a private seller. According to the dealer, Les Enluminures, "central to the philosophy of the new program is the integration of real manuscripts into the curriculum in courses where students can work closely with original material under the guidance of a professor." This goal aligns closely with our own mission in Special Collections, so we hope that you will take this rare opportunity to set up a class visit, a special event, or a reading room visit.

Special Collections staff can assist with identifying appropriate material and developing class assignments for your session using the visiting manuscripts, as well as those from our own collections. We are also prepared to assist with or conduct a variety of related instruction sessions, including a more general introduction to other resources available in Special Collections & University Archives.
Please submit your request by completing the form linked here at least two weeks in advance of your planned class visit or event. We will select material for your class during this series, but if you'd like to request specific items, call slips must be filled out at least a week in advance. We look forward to working with you!
