Welcome
Welcome to the Accounting Systems & Analytics course project research guide. Use the links and materials on this guide to find info for your project on Bicycle shops/dealers in Columbus, Ohio. To navigate this research guide use the left navigational bar (note: the left has subcategory links).
Research Tips
Two good starting points for your project are IBISWorld and Census.gov.
IBISWorld is an industry & market research report site that provides great overviews on an industry with detailed financials and info on product segmentation. IBISWorld includes reports at the national and state level. IBISWorld offers reports on Bicycle shops/dealers and Bicycle Manufacturing. The State level reports outline local performance data and highlight regional economic indicators and demographics. State industry reports can be found under the Products link in the IBISWorld top navigational bar.
For local demographic and consumer behavior data, click the local demographic and market info link located on the left. The Census.gov site has great city demographic profiles.

Tips for the Research Process
- If you are new to an industry or market, start with industry reports that focus on the national or global environment. These reports focus on the "big picture" in which a business operates. The reports offer info on industry trends, outlook, revenues and more.
**Useful sources include IBISWorld, Mintel, and Market Research Academic (see the industry and Market tab on this guide)
- Great sources for consumer behavior information are Mintel and Marketresearch Academic. These sites offer info at the global or national level. If you need consumer preference info at a local level try SimplyAnalytics(see local info tab on this guide).
- If you would like to find a list of companies in an industry and filter to the state, city or country level, two great sources are Lexis Nexis Academic and Simply Map --which includes this info in the Points feature.
