What is EndNote Desktop?

EndNote Desktop is a client-based bibliographic management software program for organizing and formatting citations for publication.

Known Issues

2/8/2017: EndNote Online Search error: "Host refused connection"

If you receive the following error message: "Host refused connection at TCP level", you need to make changes to your settings. Here are some instructions.

The compatibility issue for those who are using Word 2016 for Mac should now be resolved! Directions about how to activate follow.

When you open the desktop version of EndNote, you should receive an update prompt. You may also "Check for Updates" in the EndNote X7 dropdown menu. You do need to have the latest version of Word 2016.

How to get EndNote Desktop?

Please note that EndNote Desktop is available for free to faculty, staff, and graduate students only. Undergraduates will need to use EndNote Basic, purchase EndNote from the University Bookstore, or choose another citation management program from this tab.
