The University of Iowa Libraries maintains a collection of children’s and young adult books to support the research and curricular needs of faculty, students, and staff.  The libraries will order the following award and honor books which are announced each year:

  • Best Fiction for Young Adults compiled annually by a committee of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)

Other materials will be purchased upon request.  Check the online catalog.  If a children’s or young adult book is not listed, click here to complete and submit a Recommend a Library Purchase form.

Instructors may place children’s and young adult books on reserve for courses.    Go to for information about course reserves.
