The Business Analytics and Information Systems major prepares students to use technology and analytics to solve problems and help organizations make data-driven decisions.
Students learn methods for acquiring, managing, and analyzing data. In addition, students learn to effectively communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences. Students are able to leverage these skills, in addition to their business background, to bring value to organizations across any industry.
Graduates find work as data scientists, business intelligence analysts, consultants, risk analysts, auditors, software developers, systems analysts, technology sales representatives, and IT managers. Our graduates are qualified for 6 of the top ten jobs in the US (as compiled by Glassdoor) and according to the University of Iowa placement statistics, greater than 90% of our graduates have found jobs in their field of study, have been accepted to graduate school, or are actively not seeking employment within 3 months of graduation (https://careers.uiowa.edu/post-graduation-data).
