The Audio Description ProjectThe Audio Description Project provides an alphabetical listing of movie titles which have been released commercially in the USA with audio description tracks since 1998 on DVDs and/or Blu-ray discs, followed by the year in which they were released (on disc, not necessarily the year the movie itself was released).

Audio Descriptions for Netflix Movies and TV ShowsFrom Netflix: While audio descriptions are currently offered on a limited number of English-language titles, over time, we expect this feature to be available for major Netflix original series, as well as select other movies and TV shows in the near future. We are working with studios and other content owners to increase availability of audio descriptions across a range of devices including smart TVs, tablets, and smartphones.

The Horse Boy

Miya of the Quiet Strength
Call Number: Main Library Media Collection (Video record 38179 DVD)Publication Date: 2008Miya of the quiet strength is a one hour documentary about the life of Miya Rodolfo-Sioson, the lone survivor of the November 1, 1991 University of Iowa shooting. Following her injury, Miya became a quadriplegic, but her disability has not prevented this determined woman from helping others. The film portrays Miya's life as an activist, following her as she overcomes many challenges and fights for the rights of others she sees as less fortunate than herself. In May of 2007, Miya was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. After 18 months of battling the disease, Miya passed away on December 3, 2008. -

Her father, who initially opposed the implant, now says that he sees how useful implants can be for deaf children, and how glad he is that his children have them. -
