The objective of the Education Programme is to uphold and promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law through quality education.
The Education Department achieves its objectives through intergovernmental co-operation at European level, overseen by the Steering Committee for Educational Policy and Practice, as well as peer-to-peer learning among member states.
The Education Department is engaged in both policy development and co-operation and capacity-building. All work is anchored in its legal instruments.
