Our Services
- Article Delivery ServiceArticles or chapters from nonelectronic journals, newspapers, or books held in any University of Iowa Library (with the exception of the Law Library) can be scanned, delivered electronically, and available for viewing for 14 days.
- Course Reserves SearchMaterials on reserve for classes at The University of Iowa can now be searched online. Here you can search by course instructor, course name, course number, or department in addition to author, title, or call number.
- Course-Related Instruction(For instructors) A librarian, working with a course instructor, can design an in-class presentation that promotes information literacy, based on the goals and objectives of the course. Please contact the Sciences Library for more information.
- Delivery ServicesLibrary users may request that materials owned by one University of Iowa Library be sent and held for pickup at another University of Iowa Library or delivered to an office on the UI campus through campus mail.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL)Books, journal articles, and other research materials not owned by the University of Iowa Libraries can usually be borrowed from other libraries.
- My Library AccountSee what items you have checked out and when they are due. Renew items online.
- Recommend a Library PurchaseRequest that the library purchase materials for the collection including books, journals/serials, videos, CDs, and DVDs.
- Research Consultation AppointmentsContact a librarian for assistance with research that pertains to a specific project or thesis.
- Reserve Request(For instructors) Request materials to be placed on course reserve.
