Reuse It!

Reuse It!

Adding a new resource to your guide?  If a link already exists in one of our existing LibGuides you can reuse it.

Why is this good?  If a change is made to the title, URL, or description of the resource we only need to update it in once place.

For example, our Databases, A-Z page is generated from this LibGuide:  To reuse a link from this list you need to be using one of the Link Boxes box types (Simple Web Links or Links & Lists)

  • Click Add New Link
  • Click the Reuse Existing Link tab
  • Select #Databases A-Z ... from the Guide dropdown.  (It should near the top of the list)
  • Start typing
  • Select your title from the list
  • You have the ability to change the description.  If you do this please note that when the original description is changed your entry’s description will not.
  • Click Reuse Link

Embed a Qualtrics Survey on a LibGuide

To embed a Qualtrics Survey on your LibGuide page paste the following code in the Plain-Text Editor tab of a Rich Text Box replacing the URL with your own survey URL.  You may need to adjust the height and width.

<iframe src="" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0"> <p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p> </iframe>

You may need to change your survey's template to something simple such as "PlainJainSmall" to display it fully if you are using a 2- or 3-column LibGuides laytout.  Go to Edit Survey/Look And Feel and select Qualtrics from the dropdown (instead of University of Iowa) and select from the options.
