Deep Dive Into the Minis

A libguide meant to aide onlookers into understanding what the "The Charlotte M. Smith Collection of Miniature Books" in the Special Collections at the University of Iowa is and how to access it.

How to Locate the Books in our InfoHawk Catalog

  1. Search "Uiowa Special Collections on your web browser.
  2. Locate InfoHawk+, and in the search bar type in "Miniature books"
  4. If you're just looking to browse what sort of mini books that we have, click "advanced search" to the right of the search bar.
  5. When the search filters appear, on the first line where it says "Any Field", click it to open the drop down menu. 
  6. When the drop down menu appears, select "Subject"
  8. After step 6, press search and most, if not all of the books in the "Charlotte M. Smith Collection of Miniature Book Collection" will appear for your viewing pleasure.
  9. To request to view an item, click on the title of the book.
  10. Next, "Request this item for reading room use (Aeon)" and follow the instructions provided in the video below!
