Atlas and Anatomy of PET/MRI, PET/CT and SPECT/CT by This atlas showcases cross-sectional anatomy for the proper interpretation of images generated from PET/MRI, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT applications. Hybrid imaging is at the forefront of nuclear and molecular imaging and enhances data acquisition for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment. Simultaneous evaluation of anatomic and metabolic information about normal and abnormal processes addresses complex clinical questions and raises the level of confidence of the scan interpretation. Extensively illustrated with high-resolution PET/MRI, PET/CT and SPECT/CT images, this atlas provides precise morphologic information for the whole body as well as for specific regions such as the head and neck, abdomen, and musculoskeletal system. Atlas and Anatomy of PET/MRI, PET/CT, AND SPECT/CT is a unique resource for physicians and residents in nuclear medicine, radiology, oncology, neurology, and cardiology.

Clinical Nuclear Medicine by The modern era of radionuclide imaging and therapy is well into its seventh decade. During this era, many national and international textbooks have been published in an attempt to educate not only the practitioners of our medical discipline, but also referring physicians and medical students. Some of the more recent large multic- tural texts, such as those by Ell and Ghambir, Sandler et al. and Henkin et al. , provide us with very comprehensive reference sources while some of the smaller texts totally writtenbytwo or threeindividuals,e. g. Mettler &Guiberteauand Ziessman,O'M- ley & Thrall, have achieved popularity with radiology residents and other physicians in training. The concept of Clinical Nuclear Medicine arose 3 years ago from a conversation between the editors, who have been close friends for many years. We have always felt that our relationship epitomizes one of the major strengths of nuclear medicine, which is the very close ties and spirit of educational cooperation that exist between international colleagues. We all share the same aim of doing whatever we can to op- mize patient care whether it be by introducing new pharmaceuticals and inst- ments or by developing new techniques or approaches to performing our broad spectrum of clinical procedures. Nuclear medicine physicians have almost uniformly been willing to share their expertise at national and international meetings. The - ternational nuclear medicine community, unlike many other larger specialty areas, has remained relatively small. It was within this spirit that Clinical Nuclear Medicine was born.

The Pathophysiologic Basis of Nuclear Medicine by This book, now in its fourth edition, aims to promote a deeper understanding of the scientific and clinical basis of nuclear medicine and the new directions in medical imaging. The new edition has been revised and updated significantly to reflect recent changes and to ensure that the contents are in line with likely future directions. In addition to that, chapters have been reorganized in order to simplify the contents and to increase the readability. The book starts by providing essential information on general pathophysiology, cell biology and biologic effects of ionizing radiation followed by the mechanisms of radiopharmaceutical localization in different tissues and cells. This is followed by a series of chapters that covers all relevant organ systems presenting the basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology and relating them to the clinical utilization of various scintigraphic modalities. The final chapter is devoted to the basis of therapeutic applications of nuclear medicine. The book will prove invaluable to all with an interest in the pathophysiologic basis of Nuclear Medicine, including nuclear medicine professionals, radiologists, surgeons, pediatricians and internal medicine physicians.

Pediatric PET Imaging by Positron emission tomography (PET) has been at the forefront of fu- tional and molecular imaging for a number of years. The future of di- nostic imaging depends upon the ability to change from imaging anatomy to examining the processes at work in the body. The fact that there are now monographs examining particular aspects of PET, such as this book on the examination of children, speaks to the newly won maturity of PET. The authors are to be congratulated for the timely appearance of this volume. In recent years, PET has transformed the contributions of nuclear medicine to the diagnosis, staging, and follow-up of patients with cancer. Children with cancer deserve the very best and most comp- sionate care that society can provide. Ultimately the greatest comp- sion we can offer as physicians is to provide the best possible care. Those charged with creating public policy in the context of diagnostic medicine must make common cause with physicians and other sci- tists to ensure that that best possible care is realized at the bedside. All of the evidence suggests that PET is central to such optimal cancer care. In addition to the distinguished cast of physicians and researchers who contributed to this book, I welcome the contributions from te- nologists who are a key part of the interaction between the diagnostic process and the sick or potentially sick child. Good care is contingent upon putting parents and child at ease, and the technologist has a lead role in this.

Physics and Radiobiology of Nuclear Medicine by This fifth edition was prompted by the need to provide up-to-date information to keep pace with the perpetual growth and improvement in the instrumentation and techniques employed in nuclear medicine since the last edition published in 2012. All chapters are updated, removing irrelevant information and adding the latest updates to the field. Two chapters on artificial intelligence have been added, one on the general concepts of AI and another on the application to nuclear medicine. Like previous editions, the book is intended for radiology and nuclear medicine residents to prepare for the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, American Board of Radiology, and American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine examinations, all of which require a strong physics background. Additionally, the book serves as a textbook on nuclear medicine physics for nuclear medicine technologists taking the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board examination.
