Welcome!

Welcome to the course guide for ENGL:2359:0001 Victorian Literature - Telling Tales: Short Stories from Great Britain and Ireland, Fall 2022, with Dr. Anne Stapleton.

This guide provides assistance with starting your research, writing an annotated bibliography, and citing articles and books using MLA style.

The research tab is intended to help you get started, indicate which databases might prove most helpful for primary and secondary sources, and provide other ideas and links to facilitate your quest. You are not required to use the resources provided in each grouping and should definitely research beyond them.

The annotated bibliography and citation tabs are intended to facilitate your preparation of the annotated bibliography due the day you give your presentation with fellow group members.

Library Tips

  • Materials not available through UI can be requested through InterLibrary Loan or pdf delivery (articles and chapters).
  • Let the subject listings and references for resources of interest guide you to new discoveries on your topic.
  • When practicing your presentation, it may be useful to record yourself. The One Button Studio can be reserved for that!
