Linking to Full-Text Articles for Course Pages: Persistent URLs

About Persistent URLs

Some publishers provide what is known as a “persistent link,” a consistent URL that will link directly to the article.

Example 1: CINAHL Plus or any EBSCO database

CINAHL Plus provides a “Permalink” via tools after you select a record title. See screenshot below. Notice that the proxy is already included, thus automatically allowing for off-campus access. However, if you use this option, keep in mind that students may need to select the UI Link button from the record to access the article, unless the full text of the journal is included in this database.

Example 2: Infohawk +

If an article is finable via Infohawk +, the permalink option will provide access to the article when the journal is electronically available.
