This map of the United States shows the average amount of cloud cover in August. In Iowa, we have about a 50% chance of cloud cover during the eclipse.

We're keeping our fingers crossed, but if it's too cloudy, you won't be able to view the eclipse directly. In that case, or if you want to watch the totality remotely, NASA will be live streaming the total eclipse from locations all across the country. You can view the live stream on your own devices, or you can come to the Sciences Library and watch on our big screen TVs.
