Getting Help

University of Iowa Writing Center is a free service offered to students who wish to improve their writing.  The Writing Center helps any UI student with assignments. UI students can sign up for weekly tutoring, 30 minute appointments, and online tutoring.

University of Iowa Information & Security Policy Office provides policy & enforcement information, best practices, legal alternatives as well as links to training modules on copyright.

Searching Copyright

The U.S. Copyright Office has a copyright catalog that users can search records of registered books, music, art, and periodicals, and other works. The results also include copyright ownership documents. In addition, the site provides information on how to register for copyright.

Getting Permission

The Copyright Clearance Center is a site to get permission to reproduce copyrighted works, when necessary. It can also help you determine whether fair use applies.
