Finding Print Materials

Journals

  • Journals from 1980 onward can be found on the 3rd floor
  • Many journals are available electronically instead of or in addition to in print.  To find these, check the eJournals List.

Books

  • Current textbooks, course reserves, and other frequently used items can be found on the 3rd floor, behind the library service desk
  • Books from 1980 onward can be found on the 4th floor
  • Books older than 1980 can be found on the first floor.
  • All books are arranged by call number, which can be looked up using the InfoHawk Library Catalog
  • Electronic books can also be found by looking at the Electronic Books list.

Dissertations

  • A limite selection of dissertations can be found on the third floor near the reserve section.
  • Full text of dissertations and theses from Iowa and other CIC (Big Ten) institutions can be found here.

Multimedia

  • A variety of videos, sound recordings, computer software, and multimedia CD-ROMs from textbooks can be found iat the 3rd floor information desk.  All of these materials can also be located through the InfoHawk Library Catalog
